GMike Posted January 6, 2004 Report Share Posted January 6, 2004 Regarding the home fashioned scoop...Mine is still in place and working great. Just make sure you find the lowest part of the scoop and drill a small hole for water to drain. I tested mine out about 2 weeks ago in some serious down pour (worried the whole time it was sucking water into the engine). As soon as I got home, I found water pooled up in the bottom of the scoop, so I drilled a hole right in the middle of the puddle, from the bottom. I opened up the filter box to see how much water was in it. It was OK, very little moisture....whew! So, I think the scoop sucking water is not much of a concern as long as the other air box holes are open, (the ones on the factory location, right side fender). This helps to releiver pressure at the scoop. Helping to keep water from being sucked into the air box. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
