2006SilverSS
When I ordered mine I got it from SLP. It will say that it's for the 6.0 GTO but it's the right one. I finally installed it about 2 weeks ago (I've had it over a year, lol) and put in some water wetter at the same time and the truck runs A LOT cooler now. Even with the 90+ degree weather we have been seeing lately it stays around 180 degrees (according to the temp gauge). The install is easy, just make sure that you get new coolant since you WILL lose a good amount. And like Chase said, make sure you get the one without the housing (cheaper one). 2006SilverSS
the water weeter can you mix that with colant or just water it mixes fine with coolant... it says that it performs best with just water, but you don't want to run 100% water in your cooling system. KJT13
how much coolant do you lose while swapping out the t-stat?
Krambo
how much coolant do you lose while swapping out the t-stat? I'm sloppy and lost about a gallon I wasn't level, the truck was warm and I rushed.
KJT13
I'm sloppy and lost about a gallon cool. didn't think it would be too much but ya never know. seems like an easy enough mod that will help.
2006SilverSS
I probably lost about a gallon when I did it also. It never hurts to have to much around if your going to pick some up. Personally, I prefer to have extra rather than not enough.
Prestoar
I heard you lose some mpg running cooler, true?
drako
Yes and no If un-tuned you will lose mileage however if you re-tune the pcm and give it a bit more timing you will get back the mileage and keep the power (not to mention a cooler engine)
