jbaker
Greetings. This forum is great...only negative I can see is it will take me years to pick up enough info to feel like I'm able to contribute. I have recently purchased an '03 SSS. While I do routinely tow 4000lbs or so (boat), I am interested in a shiftkit...both for trans life / longevity and performance. The Zippy kit sure seems to have solid support here, so will likely be the candidate. Because I'm a former Jeep owner and did much of the maintenance myself, I don't have a mechanic I trust. And while I'm a competant driveway mechanic wannabe, I'm not about to jump into an auto trans. Are there any other IA SSS owners that can recommend a general mechanic and / or a trans specialist that could install a shiftkit? Des Moines would be best.
