zsamboki
Hey I have a question. Weird thing is that this only happens sometimes. But you know the sound when you kinda have your brakes on but no, when you hold them just enough for your truck to inch forward and your truck makes that growling noise. Well sometimes I get that when the truck is just sitting there idling or driving. I dunno what it is. But it sounds identical to the growling with the brakes just slipping. Usually it will do it more when the truck is colder, but still does it when it warms up. Any ideas?
Fireman31
Not sure exactly what your are saying, you could be describing brake drag........this happens when a rotor is not true (warped) and is contacting the brake pad at some point during its revolution. zsamboki
i know it's kind of hard to explain but this only happens sometimes. It sounds like the same growling noise when you're just creeping up with your brakes almost fully engaged let's say at a red light or something. But it ain't the brakes in my case. I get it when I am standing still and driving.
Fireman31
can you record the noise at all? this way we can try and diagnose it a little better.......

zsamboki
I brought it to the dealership and they told me it was the exhaust. One of the exhaust pipes rugs against the frame making the noise.
