06redSSrwd
if i sent in a pcm from a 2001 silverado for a 5.3 to be programmed for my 06 SSS would it work? thanks in advance ES
misterp
Better check to see if anyone else has done so successfully - the two PCMs will have completely different knock sensor logic, you might find with the 5.3 PCM it mysteriously pulls timing on you for no explainable reason because it was not 'trained' to the noise signature of an LQ9. .justin.
The 01 PCM won't work for your truck. The 01 is a 512kb PCM with red and blue connectors. Interchangeable with 99-02 V8 trucks, 99-02 LS1 fbodies, 99-03 Vettes and a few other similar vehicles. Your truck uses a 1mb PCM with green and blue connectors and is compatible with all 03-07 NBS trucks, 04 Vette and GTO, and a few others. Based on the above statement, is it correct that a 2004HD 6.0 PCM would be fine to use / send in for a custom tune to be put in a 2003 SSS? (btw, is reviving an old thread the right thing to do if the line of questioning is the same???) Thanks! Jared
