front end man
As some of you know my 06 black SS was stolen from me at the beach in San Diego on june 3rd. Being as we were 15 miles from the international border i never ever ever expected to see even a piece of that truck ever again. It was a horrible day in my life that easily placed in top spots of worst day ever. To add insult to injury it was stolen while i was surfing. Which means house keys wallet cell phone and of course, CLOTHES were all inside. I got to walk home 3 miles with wet trunks and my board. I allowed proper time for a chance of recovery and after a little over a month i gave up. I couldnt find another SS in good enough condition and i made the impulsive stupid decision of buying an 07 ford fX2 sport. Realized from day one that i never liked that truck. 72 days after the theft of my SS SDPD calls saying my truck has been found...6 MILES FROM MY HOUSE. Insurance had already paid me off and they were rightfull owners of the truck. They were very uncooperative in helping my buy it back and even didnt disclose the location of the auction. I had a freind do a WHOLE lot of detective work and guess what he found....the tiny little dealership in San Diego who bought my truck for $18,500...the only thing missing was the navigation and subs. Yesterday...140 somethign days after my truck was stolen i bought it back. ME AND MY SS HAVE BEEN REUNITED. It's the absolute best feeling int he world and i still feel in shock. Im too scared to drive it untill i get lo-jack. The dealer said this was his first time in 22 years of business that he's ever sold a car back to it's original owner. It feels good to be part of the family again. thought you all would want to hear my story sweeeeeeeeet

Bad Bowtie
Glad 2 hear u 2 were re-united back 2gether again! I bet since they only drove her 30 miles after they stole ur SSS, that 1 they MUST live close by (found 6 miles away), and 2, they were SCARED to drive the truck too much (fear of getting caught/seen)...? TAR 71
That's awesome that you got your truck back and it wasn't beat all to hell. It's also great that you were able to buy it back for $20,000, my 04 was totalled by my insurance company week before last and they paid me $24,000 for it. You did well, except for the stress of it all.
