detjoe
IMO, prep them and spray bomb them what ever you want. sand good, degrease, and put the coats on thin till you run out of pain with flash time in between each wheel
mbarnes
if you decide to paint your rims try to do it just after buying a new set of tires. tire changing will very likely ruin the paint job on the rim. you dont have to worry about this with powder coating. i work at a body shop so i painted mine because repainting is no biggie. oh be sure to thouroghly degrease rims and tires before painting armour all is a painters headache
sittinphatt
The best thing to do is power coat them. If you wanted to paint them, they would have to be prepared correctly
