We are plastic tree 7'ers as well. Little kids and cats. Pokey needles and sap don't mix with with little ones and animals, so no real tree yet. Real trees smell really good though, you cant beat it.

well i will be the first...BAH HUMBUG...have not had one for a lot of years. i think the whole idea of it is :icon_bs: has gotten to commercialised, and the spirit of the holidays has been lost to big business.

it has gotten to where who gets the most, and who spends the most. i think if we all went back to the way it was 100 yrs ago, maybe more people would get into the spirit of things and not be at the end of there rope... the most depressing time of the year.... :banghead:

For my 1000th post, I'll vote for REAL Christmas tree. I prefer pine. (I love the smell of the real tree.) Put on as many multi-colored lights as it will hold. Both tinsel and garland. I have several favorite ornaments, but alas no Silverado SS. If somebody knows if they're still available, please let me know. (I found one at www.HallmarkPlace.com)

When I was a kid, my parents bought an artificial tree... white! Used a spot light with a color wheel to make it change colors. If that's not enough to put you off artificial trees, nothing is. They did put multi-colored lights on it, though. I can understand people with allergies having to get a fake tree, but I'd at least get one that looks real, IMO.

Hey Steve ...

Live is the only way to go. BTW ... I never heard of an Aluminum Tree before.

We go cut our own down each year. One year we had to use a chainsaw to "Trim" it, so it would fit into the living room (farm house with 12' ceilings)

If you want ... I could UPS you a real tree that I will cut down myself, in exchange for the Shiner Bock??Let me know.

You're not the only one - I have not had a tree since the wife and kids left, that's been 5 years now. Not much sense to decorate when you have to spend Christmas with the kids in another state. :sigh:

...but they are messy and a fire hazard...

 But I thought all you smoke eaters were closet pyros :dunno::jester:

 Sorry had a mental pic of you selling Christmas trees for Shiner Bock money. :jester: And yeah fake trees were originally made from aluminum back in the 50s, look on eBay the ones in very good condition are like $500-800
