3" Dual Exhaust Question

Big Tim

Recommended Posts

To you guys with 3" true duals, was there any loss in torque switching to true duals AND 3 inch pipes? Also, what header brand do you recommend? I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'd like to know your genuine thoughts.

depend.....what are your mods?

only Volant intake, but will have custom tune soon. will it help or hurt compared to a 2 1/2"? would you recommend 3" for now? I plan on major mods in a year or two.

you should stick to the dual 2.5".........unless you get a converter, LT's, then maybe but your pushing it still with your mods, youll be happy with the 2.5" :chevy:

IMO unless you start moving alot more air (ie forced induction and/or huge cam) you will without question loose low end torque and some peak hp. i have seen it time and time again on our dyno on corvettes, which move more air to begin with. stick with 2.5"..... i have true dual 2.5" off of dynatech 1 3/4" headers and am making 590 whp. i have no restriction. before i had 3" dumped a foot or two after the muffler. i lost a considerable ammount of low end torque (and yes i tune the truck after any change so it wasnt that)
