Vortec MAX
Wheatley, Zippy, .justin. or Nelson. I am sure there are others that are competent, but these come to mind first. The first three are members on this forum. Mike Edited January 12, 2008 by Vortec MAX (see edit history)
lilmarv1117
would having zippy, nelson, wheatley tuning a superchip be the same as having a custom tune with HP tuner from one of them ?

Zippy and Nelson tune with HPTuners. .justin. tunes with EFI Live. I am not sure what Wheatley uses. I will tell you that none of them will touch "superchips." Compared to a tune by one of these guys, superchips blows! Mike Edited January 12, 2008 by Vortec MAX (see edit history)

I know if you purchase the HPTuners from Nelson, he will send you an "unlocked" PCM and email you tunes. I think Zippy will do the same thing (no matter where you buy HPTuners). HPTuners Pro runs 649.00, but you pay extra for the tuning. Tuning is not included in the price of the HPTuners software. I have no idea about Wheatley. I do know he locks his PCMs, so I don't know if you can get him to unlock one so you can upload his tunes. I am also not sure if Wheatley uses HPTuners or not. .justin. uses EFI Live, so you would have to buy that software to deal with him this way. brobradh77
You buy the commercial EFILIve as long as you dont abuse it you get free tunes via e-mail. You log and send it to him and Justin loks it over and makes corrections or tells you what to change. Thats what I have.

Fireman31
Please do not buy a handheld, they are not worth the money as they provide a very generic tune.

You would save your stock calibration before you begin to change anything that way you can change it back to stock if you really wanted/needed to. I dont understand why you need a new PCM
xlr82sxs
not to pop any bubbles around here, because everyone has their strengths and weaknesses, but i've always had a great experience with nelson's tunes. they've always been mail order as well and haven't had any issues. EDIT: and just for peace of mind, a buddy of mine who had heads, cam and a blower on his truck, also used nelson's mail order tune and it was spot on without logging, etc. Edited January 12, 2008 by xlr82sxs (see edit history)
