MustBBrent
Gents and ladies, what does it mean if a modification does not carry a CARB certification? Does that mean that you can't get emissions testing or that you can't register that vehicle as a daily driver (IE: off road only?) And how stringent are Texas and Georgia on those laws? Thanks for the help.
dcairns
CARB stands for Californis Air Resources Board. They are the bloated beuracracy that trys to make life difficult for us in the cause of clean air. In California, and modification must have passed testing to get a CARB EO number. Other states vary on how far they go on such things, but as a general rule, California is the most stringent, so if it has a CARB EO, it is legal anywhere. SSilverado60
If you are in California and your parts are not CARB approved, then you will have to go to a referee station so they can check everything out, then they will smog it and see if it passes. I believe even if the car or truck passes smog, if the part is not carb approved then it is not " legal " for highway use in California, from what I can recall...
