ccc_23
Hey guys amd gals. I am taking my girl and I to Los Angles March 21-25 for a little vacation. We want to hang out on the beach and I got us front row center court Laker tickets on the 23rd. Just wondering what any of you may recommend that we check out while we are there? Thanks! zanis520
beach most likely will be too cold to actually go in. go check out the santa monica pier. hopefully the weather will good while ur out here, thats a great date spot. you can spend the whole day around there, theres shops, restaurants, etc. and its right on the water. i live in LA what kinds of things are u guys into, what did u want to do? ccc_23
Well we really arent picky. Im sure she wants to do some shopping and I just like being in new places. I really want to go to Hollywood. Really am just going to get time off of work and relax so a beach is a must. Other than that I just didnt want to pay money to see something and have it be lame as hell. Just wondering if there are any cool tourist attractions. The pier would be cool. ccc_23
Thanks bud! That looks like a good place to hit up. Is that a place I can just show up and get it or should I buy tickets for stuff ahead of time?

Is that a place I can just show up and get it or should I buy tickets for stuff ahead of time? you can just show up and walk around for free but they also have a amusement park you can go in and enjoy the shows and some mild rides, i think to get in the park its about 50 bucks each. linky for park: http://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/
zanis520
city walk is ok, ive personally never liked it that much, maybe thats cause i grew up here. Cool place to get some lunch is the Ivy in Beverly Hills. its pretty expensive, but thats where all the celebrities go, movies are filmed there all the time, just be prepared to shell out some money, ur girl will probably like it more than you will though. dcairns
You know, it is funny, most of the things that I can think of doing involve getting away from LA/OC area Here are some more cultural/egghead type things to see: There is the Getty Museum http://www.getty.edu The recently remodeled Griffith Observatory http://www.griffithobs.org The LA Museum of Natural History is great http://www.nhm.org With some planning you can tour JPL (see the Visitor Day Tours section) http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/pso/pt.cfm Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific is very cool http://www.aquariumofpacific.org The cliffs of Palos Verdes are a fun drive (not over the edge, please ) A trip to Catalina Isand is a fun option. Avalon has more touristy “stuff to do”, while Two Harbors is more natural. http://www.catalinaexpress.com/ And there is Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Magic Mountian for theme park type stuff. There is Universal Studios Tour, but I always thought that was pretty lame. Don't miss out on Philippes. Great French Dip sandwich http://www.philippes.com And a Tommys burger is not to be missed, unless your doctor advies against it. The original store on Beverly and Rampart in Los Angeles is the one to go to. http://www.originaltommys.com/story.html
