New Evidence In My Trans Failure.

Recommended Posts

OK, I got into tearing it down a little farther today and I saw that the 4th apply piston had somehow kicked off it's gasket inside the cover. ...and now that I can see the whole band, what I thought I had seen as a failed bracket must have been an optical illusion (there's a little bend in the bracket piece, I must have been tired the other night when I worked on it and thought I saw a broken band). Besides the wear on the band from what ever did fail, the band looks to be in OK condition.

There are some chunks, so it's still got to come apart, but...

Question for the guru's, would the 4th apply piston cause loss of reverse as well as 4th???
