SS Silv
Due to my recent computer "crash", I need to update my anti-virus software. I was using Norton and was to lazy/cheap to update it, and that is what led to my crash What are you guys' using? and where did you buy it? Thanks. Tzer
I'm using the "Free" home version from AVG at work and on the daughters laptop. It found things Norton couldn't without bogging down your system. But if you reformatted and have the Norton disc. You can install it again and be good for a year ;)

evallejo
Yeah I use AVG Free on my laptop and desktop. Norton takes a huge toll on your system and slowed me down big time, Mcafee not so much, but AVG helps to speed things up, and works better IMO. Plus it's free. Hankg42
When I got the last renewal of Norton (Symantec), it introduced a load of problems on my PC. I finally got rid of it. And that is NOT an easy chore. I'm now running McAfee version 8.5i that we have at work. Much better and more stable.
SS_bnoon_SS
Symantec that I get free through work (since my home laptop needs to get on their network from time to time when I'm on call). Never have a problem here or there as long as you shut down real time scans and schedule full scans off hours. I also love the Spybot for getting the spyware programs... Samething happened to me i lost everything except some stuff i saved on a disk (also had Norton). When i picked up the lap top from hi-tech, the guy told me to stay away from myspace, you tube, and PORN in front of some people, none the less i just made a fast get away.
