Jspeeddemon
I may be interested in a cam change for my ss, what cam would give me the best overall bang for the buck from 2500-6000, with consideration that this is my daily driver. I may do a Torque converter later, but tow with this vehicle so I would probably do the Vigilante 2600. I love the radical lope, so that is not a problem. Also interested to hear from people who have changed this on their own, what are pitfalls for the weekend cam change that I may encounter?
BenKey
The Comp 212/218 114 is a pretty good cam. You would not loose very much, if any, low end. So towing should be no prob. Requires no computer changes and adds some decent power. Two of us have used this cam and have had good results. It was my first cam. Pretty easy to do. Try going to LS1howto.com and reading the cam change tech article. It's on a F-body, but it's basically the same for these trucks. Check back a few pages in this section for mine and Slimsoftball's threads on doing this cam.
