Removing the screen will not significantly improve flow through the MAF and will in cases make it worse as the airflow going across the sensor will become more turbulent. However, a very good MAF improvement for N/A trucks is to upgrade to the 85mm MAF, or if you are F/I and want to try keeping a MAF rather than going SD-tune then a 90mm MAF. The stock 78mm MAF is a known restriction on modified motors, head/cam engines will typically gain 10-15hp upgrading to the 85mm MAF. Remember that changing MAF also means that the MAF-related tables in the PCM will have to be reprogrammed/recalibrated. Mr. P. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
