CenWaSS
Ok question for the trans guros (sp?) Im installing a TBTC/zippy shift kit soon and am torn between which cooler I should install. Im looking at the Tru Cool 4590 or the Tru Cool Max 4739 w/o t-stat bypass. Im leaning towards the Max but was worried if the trans temps would be to cold with the Max cooler. Im also planning on having sythentic fluid placed in the trans after the install. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Thanks The 4590 is plenty with that converter, but there is no such thing as too much cooler - you can always zip-tie a little piece of tin to the back of the tru-cool max to cut down the surface area of the cooler and bring the temp up. Mr. P. i have the zippy kit & tbtc and the tru-cool 4590 is plenty for my combo. i live in s. fl with the blazing heat and humidity and i never get past 160-165, and i usually stay around 150. its perfect in my book. 1 Fast SS
I was thinking about getting a trans cooler myself. Sometimes my trans runs close to 200*, but only when I get on it. If I'm running the truck normal, then it's from 150-180, is that to hot? I live in Vegas where it gets to be about 117*- 122* outside, so I don't know if thats running hot or not. You will definitely need to upgrade it once you get a stall. Cheap insurance to prevent a trans failure IMO.
