718bklynboy
Im About to cut these restrictive converters out of the SS. Has anyone experinced a check engine light coming on after removing them? I know the pre-coverter O2 Sensors are patched into the PCM to determine the propper air/fuel ratio I believe is 14:7:1 But the post-converter O2 Sensors have no effect on the PCM except to determine the efficiency of the converter. Is it safe for me to say that the PCM should not throw any codes or ignite the check engine light?? Thanks for your replies...
brobradh77
Yiou will need to tune them not to report or you will get codes.
Black2003SS
Yup...you will get a SES or CEL or whatever you want to call it. I just cut my cats out with my long tube headers and got all the bank 1 and bank 2 sensor 2 malfunction light. Anyone with HP tuners or LS1 Edit, or your tuner, can turn them off in a couple of minutes. There is a thread on here somewhere telling which ones need to be turned off with the removal of the cats.
