Chevyman03SS
Well my mech. called me today and he found the culprit for no oil pressure!! Ok well if yall didnt read my other post!!!! When i started my truck it had no oil psi and started to tapp a lil!! WELL he pulled it down checked the pickup tube and nothing then he checked all the o'rings and nothing and then he checked the oil pump hi psi by pass and found the piston stuck in the bypass mode, in turn not allowing the pump to pump oil to the top of the engine!!!! He also found a little slack in the timing chain and is gonna change that while it is down!!!!!
Fireman31
well thats good news there, at least you caught it early before the engine locked up......I gotta say its definitely a rare occurence to have an oil pump fail
Chevyman03SS
That is exactly what my mech said!!! But the main resaon he knew what it was , was because when he pulled the old pump down the plug that hold the pump psi relief valve and the spring , it shot it off and the piston was stuck and was badly scared!!!
