smoke03
When coasting to a stop or slowing down I keep hearing a ticking sound coming from the front end of the truck. It sounds like its coming from the front end but doesnt do it at idle so I have no way of getting out and pinpointing the location of the sound. The ticking slows as the truck slows and you can put the truck in nuetral and let it coast and it still makes the sound. Anybody got any input on this dillema? I also know that the front diff. in these trucks is prone to failure so thats why Im assuming thats where the noise is coming from. Nothing else seems wrong, just a noise. Fireman31
well no not 100% sure but why doesnt it do it under acceleration? DOH! How did I miss that? Anywho, sounds like it could be some kind of bearing noise...maybe front diff, half shafts, or wheel bearings........
