[email protected]
OK, I'm new here. I don't have a SS, but I have a 2007 Sierra Denali RWD NBS with the 6.2 L92. I want to hop it up WITHOUT a supercharger, or getting into cams, piston ect. My idea is this. 2008 Corvette LS3 intake manifold (more for looks and shock value than performance) 2008 Z06 fuel rails 2008 Z06 injectors MSD ignition Volant cold air Catalytic delete 2008 Z06 90mm throttle body Custom dyno tune I need to know if these things will fit. the 08 Vette LS3 is a 6.2 and are running Z06 fuel rails and injectors to get them up to 436hp. My tuck has 403 hp and I want to get as close as I can to 450-475 without getting too crazy. You guys seem to be on point.....let me know what you think. smoke03
I dont know how much the TB will help but i will recomend the Volant intake and a set of long tube headers. Let that baby breathe. You would also be surprised at how well the truck intake flows so Im not really sure that a new intake would help much either. Of coarse I could be wrong. Someone please correct me if I am
usabodyguard
just get some LONG TUBE headers, a volant cold air intake (FTW), and get a good TUNE... find someone who can dyno and street tune your truck... you have more than enough fuel for now, i wouldnt mess with that other stuff until you get FI... NO msd coils - waste of money... i can guarantee you dont have have 400+ to the rear wheels right now... maybe around 320rwhp if youre lucky... Someone please correct me if I am Thanks dude. I found some Dynatech headers, but they are two piece. 1 piece for 850, the other(cat) for about 600. I don't know about you, but I'll drive my Nali off a bridge before I'll pay 1500 bucks for headers. Do you know where to find the long tubes for my truck, and can I delete my cats if I tune the truck? I don't know what that means. Haha. Do you have some links for the long tube headers for my truck......all I can find are the Dynatechs. FTW = for the win Here's my scoop on this, you are looking too far into the fuel and intake side of boosting performance.....The LS3 intake/TB/fuel rails aren't going to help a whole bunch with out a set of heads and a cam to match it. The stock coils are plenty for our trucks, the only ignition components you will need are plugs and wires. Here are my suggestions...... For starters, begin with the basics.... CAI cat-back custom tune 160* t-stat That combination of parts will wake your truck up alot, you will be suprised. Since you do not want to get into FI or the motor's internals, here is what I suggest next for more bite....... LT headers 2800-3000 stall TC shift kit billet servos larger trans cooler spark plugs and wires If you are still hungry for more after this, then it is time to jump into the motor. Let us know what you decide to do. Edited August 10, 2008 by Fireman31 (see edit history)
gixxerrider
1500 for a set of header is alot. However they are the best on the market.
FireRescueSS
1500 for a set of header is alot. However they are the best on the market. If you're running, cheap, crappy headers.... then nothing matters for the rest of the exhaust. It's like the old saying, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. usabodyguard
I have a set of dynatechs and I love them... they are worth the money! you can also check into pacesetters, OBX... remember, once you start diving into your engine, ie intake manifold, coils, fuel rails, etc... smoke03
I have Pacesetters on my truck. CAI , LT Headers, tune, and a shift kit, youll gain quite a bit. Edited August 11, 2008 by smoke03 (see edit history)
