NashSS
I use shell V Power everytime I put gas in. I've ran my truck on 89 a few times without a problem but I did notice less power so I just stick with 93 but whats sucks is its a 20cent difference so I could save some coin by switching to 89 but the truck doesn't care for it. If you have a shell station near you I would look into it cuz at our shell station they are cheaper then everyone else and their premium is 93 octane while everyone elses premium is a 91 octane. rattlindodge
I checked my milage with 90 octane ( 120 highway miles) and my milage jumped up to 18 mpg from 15.5. Quite a bit of improvement. But it was a one way trip and it might have been slighly down hill? seward to anchorage
TXARKITEKT
The LQ9 in these trucks has 10:1 compression = high octane fuel required. Low octane in these trucks = knock/ping/detonation = KR = less power, lower fuel economy, less efficiency. +
