Pulley Advice

I have a radix with a 3.1 pulley making 7 pounds of boost. If I put a 2.8 pulley is it going to be safe for the engine (LQ9).there is an intercooler. will i need another dyno tune. Is it going to make too much heat. How much boost will I be at with a 2.8 pulley. does anyone know somewhere in socal to get a methanol kit installed,cost andhow does meth work. does it only kick in at WOT. . . HELP PLEASE

id go with a 2.9 with so cal heat. and for the meth it may help you get a couple degrees of timing . if you have any mechanical skill you can install it. the alky control kit i installed was cake.

where did you buy your kit at. lets install that shit. i live in santa ana. i would love to see that bad ass truck of yours. wanna race lol. im going to irwindale tomorrow TNT 1\8 mile. gonna race my wife. she just got an srt8 jeep cherokee. thanks again bro...

alky control sells a nice kit , the controller is very nice and adjustable.

 

make sure you do both at the same time and then re tune. id honestly wait on the meth kit though , for what it costs the gain is somewhat small, its for people trying to sqeeze every last hp out of there motor,

 

i will be going to the tnt in irwindale in about two weeks to get my truck dialed in.

ok yes your fuel afr will need tunning i dont see how your making a true 7psi with a 3.1 im running a 2.8 and only seeing 7.5 psi with no meth it does fine but i need meth Get a stage 2 snow performance meth kit pn(20010) and install it yourself also you will need tunning for the meth ebay has the se kits onsale for 385 right now

on stock maggie injectors its not a good idea to go below a 3"... the duty cycle on them just goes to high. and yes, any pulley you can put on a 112 maggie is safe on an LQ9, its just which one is best for your setup/climate.

go to my gallery. i scanned in my dyno charts. with a 3.1 pulley im making over 7 lbs of boost at 5000 rpm. thats how i know im making a "true" 7 lbs of boost. thanks for the info about ebay. as for installing the meth kit is it really that easy. have you put one in before....

Jason he can make that kind of boost.....i run a 2.8 and some run 8.5 - 9.5#'s of boost but i am only seeing 8..it just depends onn how restrictive your engine is,size,etc...

i think my exhuast has no restriction at all brad lol plus i have a low comp 6.0

but an exhaust with too much or too little back pressure will greatly affect boost and temperatures. if its too free flowing, your dumping boost and not necesarrily for power. i run dual 2.5" and make 550whp, hardly any back pressure. just a little. i had 3" dumped and i lost power (and 1.5ish lbs of boost)
