perk03z06
Anyone know the cause of the driver's front tire wearing only on the inside, while the pass. front is wearing normally? I noticed this on another Silverado that I saw in a parking lot, so I'm hoping there's a known answer ...
Fireman31
time for an alignment......could be from a blown shock, weak ball joint, etc etc.........
NTMD8R_SS
My 24's where like that, only the drivers side tire wore horribly on the inside. I had a bad tie-rod and needed an alignment.
CenWaSS
Not knowing this just cost me nearly $900 bones for new tires, ouch!
mike1booth
gotta catch stuff like this eirly... you wait too lokg to get an alignment and the tire wears, THEN get it lined up that tire will knock it outa wack
perk03z06
This was why I was asking ... I'm about to do a lot of work on the truck ... including new tires, and my buddy and I were having a hard time finding out what part was causing the problem. We aligned it, got underneath, checked for wear and we couldn't find anything ... And what's strange ... is my alignment is still 100% true from when we aligned it in March. I'm guessing we aligned with the bad tie-rod end ... So ... it's certain that it's just the tie-rod end that's worn out? That may explain why the steering pulls me all over the road lately ... NOTE - Something I forgot to mention ... the abnormal inside wear started happening after we aligned the truck in March ... A tie-rod could also contribute to your sloppy steering, but there are many other variables that come into play now also. A loose pitman arm(s) can contribute, as well as some play in the steering box.
GetWithIt
I found out the other day, that my idler arm and pitman arm are a little loose......my front tires are starting to show a little wear. Also discovered that I now have a leaking front diff. seal on the drivers side....................

I wonder if it's not them that's doing it ...
