I've taken to changing my own oil (Mobil1) but I don't know how to reset the "Oil Change Needed" that occurs at startup. Hints anyone?

Regards,

Dan :chevy:

Found this in the "Howto" section 4 ya: "i just cycle mine to the oil life display then hold down the arrow button on right side of steering wheel for a few seconds and it resets to 100 percent."

According to the manual (and I've done it), Turn the key to the "on" position and pump the accellerator 3 times, you'll see a message of something like "oil life reset". After that turn the ignition off and you should be good to go.

Really? :wtf: I've never heard that one. I say put the truck in reverse and drive around until your mileage goes down and the oil life meter will reset it self JK of course :jester:

ROTF  that was a good one.

Yeah, it works. Maybe mine is that way since I don't have the DIC (Driver Information Center) to scroll through all that stuff.

Yea, that is how my '99 Silvy was.

For my 03SSS, I do what was described above by going to the oil life "screen" and holding down the "enter button" on the bottom right of the steering wheel until it resets.
