fast4popper Posted November 21, 2008 Report Share Posted November 21, 2008 I was into that motor back in my day. them 2.2/2.5 litre turbos could put out some bang for some cheep bucks. add a waste gate controller, which could be made for under 30 bucks and some big injectors and you were over 300hp easily. and you have to remember this was a mid 80's engine design. I currently drive a 92 Daytona daily with basically the same motor that does 224hp 217tq stock! what kind of 4 bangers put out that kind of power now? hardly any other than the SRT neon and the SS cobalt. it took the imports YEARS to make that kind of HP and they still arent that close to the TQ number.
