deezel
I found this over on ls1tech: 15712407 - Left torsion bar code WX torque 5826 15712408 - Right torsion bar code WX torque 5826 15528955 - Left torsion bar code gf torque 5826 15528956 - Right torsion bar code gf torque 5826 15712409 - Left torsion bar code Wy torque 5913 15712410 - Right torsion bar code Wy torque 5913 15528957 - Left torsion bar code GG torque 6790 15528958 - Right torsion bar code GG torque 6790 15528959 - Left torsion bar code GH torque 7161 15528960 - Right torsion bar code GH torque 7161 15712411 - Left torsion bar code WZ torque7267 15712412 - Right torsion bar code WZ torque 7267 15528963 - Left torsion bar code GK torque 8615 15528964 - Right torsion bar code GK torque 8615 15528965 - Left torsion bar code GL torque 8782 15528966 - Right torsion bar code GL torque 8782 15732338 - Left torsion bar codeXG torque 9054 15732339 - Right torsion bar code XG torque 9054 So this got me to wondering... for guys who want to lower, but keep the stock suspension stiffness, could you get a different torque rating torsion bar and accomplish this? SuperSport
deezel i brought this up a little while ago and everybody thought it wasn't a good idea, but i personally would like the truck to ride more stiff in the front and cut some of the body roll out. so i am all for it. thanks for the info. deezel
SuperSport, I remember you bringing this up before. I don't recall if anyone ever tried it. I guess the hard part is figuring out which ones you need... I suppose I would try one step stiffer from stock to start out...
SSilverado60
If you change to a different torsion bar, you will not have factory ride. You will end up with the same ride heights that you can achieve with the stock torsion bar. But you will be stiffer or softer depending on which bar you buy. A stiffer one may help out a bit for handling
SuperSport
Hey deezel, Keep me posted on what you end up doing, I am reaaly interested in this idea. I think it will be an even bigger benifit if you have the 2" drop spindles. I just put my McGaughy's lowering kit in and now trying to clean up the excess body roll. Thanks
BenKey
I just put my McGaughy's lowering kit in and now trying to clean up the excess body roll. You need to top it off with a set of Hotchkis front and rear sway bars and then maybe a premium shock. I don't think you'd want anymore after that. I agree, my Hotchkis front and rear sways are due in this week, with a set of Hotchkis rear trailing arms as well. I'm guessing there will be very little body roll left after that....shoot, with the McGaughy's drop spindles in front and Eibach's 335 lb drop springs in the back, it's nearly perfect already.
