psrumors Posted January 10, 2009 Report Share Posted January 10, 2009 great way to join the SS ranks I liked them till I saw more girls driving them than guys and The ones I have seen modded have not run that great, the LS2 while great is a bit touchy. Just observing the owners of both groups (which I initally felt were the same) they are very different. I am guessing alot younger. While the TBSS is a nice truck, it is not the one off build like the silverado SS. I think I could take a TBSS, and most of them pull up thinking they are going to win hands down... I love the SSS. I love going to Montgomery on a regular basis due to the fact the number of SSS that are in Montgomery. It never fails I have at least one jump on me and I show him the door. What is with Montgomery Al and the number of SSS there? I see at least 10 every time I am down there. As for the LS2 being touchy, here is a little video of my touchy LS2. The motor has not been touched it is the stock heads, cam and bottom end. Seems to have responded well to the upgrades. I drive it for work quite often. Took it to AL on Wednesday did a little over 600 miles in the day. I use it to get grocerys, hall the kids, pull a utility trailer, work and pleasure transportation. But mostly, with 170+ 1/4 mile runs I use it to kick the crap out of unsuspecting people. I don't know how many times sitting in the staging lane I am asked, "what do you run, 14 seconds?". There is always someone faster. Well, for one, I don't go looking to beat up on the SSS in Montgomery they come to me. Two it was mainly responding to the part of the LS2 is touchy and does not respond well. I would hope that as old as these trucks are you do have some that will beat mine. You all are just jealous cause the Trailblazer flat out smokes the SSS stock and I have driven both. You may say the TBSS has no grunt below 4K rpms well I don't think the SSS has grunt ANYWHERE....hahahaha... Oh wait, you do have the Dale Earnhardt edition.... That any faster or just a bunch of gay ass badges with a autograph on the dash?? I'll put my "grocery getter" up against any SSS. Not trying to flame you guys, but come on. Wake up.... The TBSS will ****in smoke the silverado ANY day of the week. And what we get for 35 grand is seating for 5 with a covered bed....lol. Who roll races anyways..... ricers. Its a shame that the silverado is supposed to be a performance truck. Atleast the tbss is worth its price tag, and if im quite sure silverado ss's had a bout a 40k price tag. Hell, even the STOCK and non HIGH PERFORMANCE dodge and ford truck with comparable v8's would for the most part match if not spank a silverado ss.
