bad88t-top Posted February 27, 2009 Report Share Posted February 27, 2009 So I've been fighting this vibration due to lowering the back of my 04SS AWD w/ shackles. I discovered I have about 1/16 of play where my driveshaft slides into my transfercase. It appears to be more than normal from what I have w/ my other cars. Is there a bushing in there that can be replaced? Has anyone ever had a transfercase apart on one of these? Black2003SS Posted February 27, 2009 Report Share Posted February 27, 2009 There is a bearing/bushing that typically has to be replaced from inside the transfer case. Some shops swear you can do it with the transfer case still in the vehicle and even have a tool for it though. 1/16 play does sound a little excessive. Have you checked the u-joints first?
