56chevywagon
What exactly is that? Boost valve? It's the input shaft...
ss454327
It's the input shaft... OUCH! HAHAHA I was thinking a bit smaller...
sprayed99
another weak link in the 60e. too bad no one tools a input drum. A billet input would be nice, but then you could strip the splines out of the drum....kinda one of those things when you start pouring power at the 60e. 56chevywagon
ok...I got it back together and now I have a really lazy 1-2 shift and a really good shutter on the 1-2. All of the other shift feel good...Any idea's anybody???
sprayed99
did you re-use that converter?
56chevywagon
yeah, I did reuse it...
96vteccd5
So where is this input shaft located? I know where the drive shaft is but nothing about input shaft.
56chevywagon
The input shaft is what goes into the torque converter
sprayed99
yeah, I did reuse it... you might have sent trash all through the unit now. could be causing hang ups in the valve body.
56chevywagon
The input shaft broke extremely clean and when I drained everything, including the torque converter, everything was clean...not metal shavings or shiny material...The lazy shifting has almost gone away but the shutter is still there at moderate acceleration. If I take off easy and let it shift at light throttle, it shifts good. If I floor it...it shifts good...It's only at about 1/2 throttle that I get a pretty good shutter. I'm thinking of doing a shift improver additive to see if that helps, Either the B&M shift improver or the Lucas transmission conditioner. Anybody have and suggestions on these additives? 56chevywagon
I tried the Lucas Stop Slip additive...I'll post tomorrow to see if it does anything worth while. Any suggestions are still welcome Edited May 12, 2009 by 56chevywagon (see edit history)
