juriha
Well my IROC is headed to the booth in less than a month and I can't stand the stock louver'ed hood, so I will be buying a new hood and have it put on and painted all at once...I have found a hood that I really like, but it is fiberglass...what would you guys recommend? Go with the fiberglass hood I like or go with a steel hood?
kcsilveradoss
thats a looong hood to go fiberglass with, i would go the steel route if it were me. if you go fiberglass, i would imagine you will have to change to a lightweight hood spring or eliminate them and use a prop instead. just my .

Eddie
What of hood is it? stock replacement? It's hard to find a functional ram air hood in steel. So I would go fiberglass. But a cowl induction I would go steel.
04CHASE
depends, how well it fits. and with fiberglass you may need to run pins. if they made a something lighter weight that fit good for the trucks i would go that route.
juriha
Thanks guys...I am definitely reconsidering what I am going to do... The fiberglass hood is just a simple cowl induction hood, nothing special but a hell of a lot better than stock. It is supposedly a direct replacement.
