BlkSSnCpt
uh DONT do it if you work hard to keep it clean then leave it in the garage. you will never get all the water spots off agree! if it's your garage queen...leave it that way. it won't be a fun trip if your always worrying about it. they have very good points even tho i say drive it IF it really is gonna bother u the whole way there then just leave it home and dont drive. IF u do decide on taking it put a nice thick coat of wax on it and maybe tape off the front end so all the bugs wont stick to it, i know that sounds kinda wierd but every year there's a big car run that starts here in Cali and ends in Vegas where everyone tapes off their front ends for the run. it's mostly imports and euro's but a lot of them are really really nice rides with expensive paint jobs. -Rob
F1SSS
After I have looked back at all the tedious driving I have done in my SS (driving to friends to watch sports/hangout) I am bs about it. I have added 30k miles and 20k came from stupid stuff like that. She was a dd then. As for real driving I put about 10k on her for drs appointments into Boston and jetting back home. I do not regret those miles at all because being real sick sucks and can bring you down, well this truck brought me back up enjoying it driving home. If I didnt do all that tedious driving I would be at 44k (give or take a 2k miles) instead of 64,464 miles (it does bother me alot, no joke). My SS is no longer a dd (I havent put her on the road from winter yet) and I am looking for a new dd. As for an answer for you, I would not do it. Your truck Im sure would make, but its never been used for a long road trip before, why start now? The truck would be a nice comfortable ride, but do you really want to add those miles? CoolBlueSS
Mine has been my DD since I bought it, and probably always will be. I keep it cleaned, and well maintained, as with all my vehicles I've ever owned. I want something else as a toy, and would think it would be cool to drag a toy around in the SS. GetWithIt
I daily drive mine......bought it with only 8k on the odometer in '05.....she has a little over 60k on her now.......granted it's only a few miles to work from my house, but it's been on several trips to the casinos in Oklahoma....Hell, I even loaded it up with stuff to haul to the landfill when we were remodeling our house....The guys that worked there just shook their heads because it had rained which left the demolition pit nothing but thick gooey clay-mud................ ............Just takes longer to detail the next time is all......besides, being a daily driver gives me excuses to buy more detailing supplies anyway....... ss454327
Did you ever think she might want to show off her man and his sweet ride??? Make her happy and drive the damn thing...it's only a truck. Our trucks are not going to be worth a lot of money honestly so I see no reason in making it a garage queen.

funceca88
What is the point of owning a kick @$$ vehicle if you don't get to enjoy it? Take her out and run it. There is nothing better then a long cruise on a nice day in the SS with the windows down and the radio blasting... Rob , just roll the windows up when it rains lol
