03_SS_22
What do yall think about putting a 3600-3800 stall in a near stock truck? At the same time ill be doing a shift kit and servos. I am not gonna leave it like that for long. Im going to do a cam and head swap shortly after. I already have the cam (pat g custom cam but its just not installed yet). just lacking the heads. Would it work? I know it wont be ideal for the meantime but just wanted yalls opinion or should i just wait. Thanks, Eric Edited June 28, 2009 by 03_SS_22 (see edit history)

misterp
The efforts I've seen with 3400-RPM converters was not very productive; the trucks would leave hard and run well to the 1/8th-mile, then the ET would just plummet on the last half of the run. FWIW. Could have been the fault of the high-stall converter, could have been poor lockup strategy, could have been poor tune Mr. P. Edited June 29, 2009 by Mr. P. sprayed99
max I would go is 3000, but a 2800 is ideal..... these trucks start making good torque around 2200 and really start to climb at 2800 and up.
