mattcedelen
Hey guys...I found an '05 SBM SS AWD at one of the dealerships near me and was going to go tomorrow and try to work something out on it. From prices I've seen on ebay and in the "For Sale" section here I think it's a bit over-priced, but I was wanting to get some opinions on it and maybe some things to have checked tomorrow. I'm gonna try and get the dealership to let me take it to my local mechanic and have them give it a once over, but any advice would be appreciated!! Here's the link to the dealership (Hare Chevrolet in Noblesville,IN) website: http://hareautomotive.com/Indianapolis-Che...30410-used.html Thanks in advance to all!! -Matt Edited October 12, 2009 by INPharmer (see edit history)
F1SSS
It may be a bit overpriced because they might be offering a warranty with it compared to ones on Ebay and private sellers. If you have plans for mods then drop the warranty and thats money off. Make sure your local mechanic knows these trucks very well, I would bring it to a GMC dealership and see what they say and what type of offers they throw at you for a denali. mcmahan
i only gave 19k for my 05 ss
Tzer
WOW they sure are proud of it. Tell them you'll give them 20K and they can keep the nerf bars Seriously. That's a little steep in this current market. Let us know how it turns out..
F1SSS
Id pay that price for an SS with 26k miles. Hood and nerf bars need to go. Im still trying to track down an ISS in CT that was on ebay with 78 miles on it and the reserve is right around that same price.
mattcedelen
I kinda like the hood (except that it's fiberglass), but not a fan of the nerf bars or the "snap-on" bed cover. I'm going to the dealership tomorrow and taking my 2000 Roush and am going to try and work out a trade of some sort. I'm gonna try and push for $10k trade for my car and leave the lot with giving them no more than $11k or $12k, but we shall see... Guess I'm gonna find out whether or not they wanna get rid of it or how proud of it they are. Will let everyone know tomorrow how it goes or what I find out. superslowss
Also dump the Airaid intake... I had the same one and it SUCKED! Got my street tune with it on and Wheatly said the IATs were crazy high. Just my 2 cents. Good luck with it!
dcairns
They really dumped a good coat of shellac on the engine compartment Edited October 12, 2009 by dcairns (see edit history)
Jaymz
They really dumped a good coat of shellac on the engine compartment looks like they used the new "garden hose" application tool
mattcedelen
Never mind on the advice for this sale...went to the "stealer-ship" today and have easily backed out of the truck!! The MSRP they have is $29,999 and their sale price is $25,4**... they told me they would give me $5500 for my car off the $25k or $10k off the $29k... I laughed histerically!!!! They told me that they wouldn't have "ANY" problem selling the truck for what they wanted with "the economy the way it is"!! I said, yeah, you're right...you'll probably sell it to someone that hasn't done the research on the vehicle line and is willing to have a 14mpg vehicle! GOOD LUCK to them! I'm gonna call 'em back in a month when they still have it on the lot and ask them how positive they are on selling it! Oh well...better luck next time! FYI...everyone thats trying to sell their trucks should bump up the price a couple of thousand based on the "economy" and this particular lot's perspective! misterp
... and their sale price is $25,4**... Holy bend-you-over-the-rail Batman! Don't get discouraged, keep looking - you will find a good deal, I know it. Mr. P.
mattcedelen
hahahahaha......yeah, I walked out proudly, but a little "stiff-legged" to the car. My wife on the other hand....I thought she was gonna drag him over the desk we were sitting at! She said, "can you believe that guy; and he said everything with a straight face!" I'm definately gonna keep lookin'; hopefully I can sell the Roush out-right and have some more cash for buying power rather than hoping to find a good trade! I would LOVE to have JaymzSS' truck...man that thing sounds too good to be true!! Oh well, the Roush will sell when the time is right and I'll find the right truck then....anyone need a car??? Glad to hear you have a wife with some 'restraint'. Yeah Derek's truck is the real deal, that is one of the nicest trucks I've seen, he takes immaculate care of it. Mr. P. sdimedude
I thought all wheel drive SSS's have rear disc brakes? They say that it has drums in the rear. And that thing is way overpriced.
