misterp Posted October 28, 2009 Report Share Posted October 28, 2009 That a good and bad thing about Chevy's is the 12V adapter is always live of where other cars it is controlled by the ignition switch... A lot of stuff on these truck remains powered when the key is off; I got bit by this last month when the light switch on my truck failed and leaked current to the marker light relay, it killed the battery dead and now I have to buy a new battery It was only blind luck that a neighbor walked by the truck and heard the relay buzzing underhood, if not for that we would have never known why I had a dead battery.
