That a good and bad thing about Chevy's is the 12V adapter is always live of where other cars it is controlled by the ignition switch...

A lot of stuff on these truck remains powered when the key is off; I got bit by this last month when the light switch on my truck failed and leaked current to the marker light relay, it killed the battery dead and now I have to buy a new battery :banghead: It was only blind luck that a neighbor walked by the truck and heard the relay buzzing underhood, if not for that we would have never known why I had a dead battery. Pisser of the whole deal is that now I have a fairly new $150 Optima that is junk, it's warranty *just* expired. :mad:
