Danes are good dogs, VERY family territorial, if you have little kids you can leave them with a Dane and NEVER worry about your kids. Great family dogs. Most Danes are high energy, some are 'moderate' but I've never seen a 'lazy' Dane myself. You do have to mind the Big Dog issues, they need room and their own grocery budget. Watch for Danes that are too inbred, it happens enough to check that out thoroughly. Mr. P. And a John Deer tractor to pick up their shit. Closest thing I've got to a dog. She plays fetch, she normally comes when she's called, and does the "gentle" trick when you hold the treat in your mouth, and she takes it from you.
