Steering Wheel Wobble

Sometimes during braking my steering will shake bad. It shakes during a slower braking 30 mph and below and doesnt do it all the time. From inside the truck it almost seems that the front wheel is bouncing off the ground but I actually think its shaking the wheel side to side. I had some excess moving in the left front tie rod and had it replace 6 months but here in the last month it has started this. It also has 108xxx on the odometer. Does anybody have any ideas to what it could be. Thanks

Sounds like a warped rotor if it is doing it during braking only. Is it ok when your not braking? If it is I would say a warped rotor.

I'm not going to disagree with you but the steering shake is much more vilante than a warped rotor shake. It almost like the tire is bouncing up and down off the road. And no it does shake do it when i'm not braking. Yes I'm will check the rotors to be sure, I'm sure to turn the rotors would be cheaper than replacing front end parts. I might also add that it doesn't do it all the time. Quess I need to just check all things on the front-end. Thanks

Does it do it at acceleration or hitting a bump in the road. It's like it's fine until something sets it off. Mine does it sometimes like when I accelerate hard or hit a bump. Had the wheels checked out for balancing and had a alighnment done to. I did some seaching on here and alot of people have had the same problem but never said what was causing it. I'm wondering if it's the weight of the wheels versus the strength of the truck steering components. Only thing I seen was were a guy had added a steering stabilizer to take out the shock or the wooble you feel. Maybe someone else on here will chime in and have the solution

Mine only does it during braking. As far as setting it off ya seems if the road has some small ripples during the braking set it off.
