408

Recommended Posts

You need to list your power desires, money willing to spend, are you buying the motor already built or are you disassembling yours and having it machined?

You can go from mild to wild with building a motor. Price could be anywhere from $4k to 20K.

educate yourself on what is involved in the production and installation and go from there . also consider the cost and other parts needed for the the support of such an engine . You can get a shortblock for under 4k but if your truck is bone stock now you'll spend double that in supporting mods just to have reliability.

Thanks Krambo. Power depends on supporting parts. Depends on cylinder heads, camshaft. This same shortblock with a 2300TVS at 10psi through a 4L70 made 690whp. Shortblock will support much more than that with more fuel and proper tuning. :D Set up as a N/A motor should make 500whp or so.

Its a shortblock. The choice of heads and cam will play the biggest part of the HP numbers.

awesome thanks Kevin

it was just a though that popped in my head it would be a good project for next winter
