Very Rough Idle

So after jump starting my truck this afternoon I realized that it is idling very rough. I have a little over 75k and have changed the spark plugs once not all that long ago. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to make it idle better? I appreciate any feedback.

Jump starting? So the batter was dead?

Any check engine lights? I would start by cleaning the MAF / Throttle body and see where that gets you.

 

Edit: didnt notice you said jump start... Still could not hurt to clean the maf and such

Couldn't hurt to do this........how dead was the battery? Was it stone cold dead or was it just a slow crank?

My stereo head unit has a short in it so it drains the battery after a couple of days without starting. That is my next project to fix. It was just dead enough to not start. It started to turn over then went into the clicking.

What are your mods? besides the stereo stuff.

no mods other than a bed cover and stereo and no check engine lights.

so its just at idol? not while driving?

It seems to do fine while driving, the only time I notice is at idle.

ever done a tune up on the truck? and how many miles do you have?

if your battery was super dead, you may need to run it a bit to relearn the idle settings. when i replaced my battery i had the same thing, but cleared up after a couple restarts..
