Doing A Rebuild

Recommended Posts

Hey fellas sorry for all the threads. I found a transmission guy where I'm at to rebuild my transmission. He said it will be 1800-2000cdn. I asked him about a shift kit and he said \i shouldn't need one that he would be able to make it shift nice by adjusting some other things. He said he would put in a corvette servo and sonnex servo.

What other parts should i get him to put in. And what questions should i ask him about the build. He said he would give me a one year warranty.

With labor, fluid, and parts, that price is reasonable for a standard 4L60/65E rebuild.......They usually range from $1700-$2200 around here depending on the shop. You should still definitely look into a shift kit though......

hmmmm then why are you asking for a parts list? You do understand by upgrading those parts it also upgrades that cost. If you still want a list of parts I can give it to you.

I want the tranny to be able to handle the 400 horse and fpt. I am in a different province working If this rebuild breaks again im not getting my truck towed 7 hours for the warranty work. I want it done right with good parts.

Simple enough.

I would run Alto red clutches through out (run the alto commercial 3-4 clutch pack with their steels also)

Servos (vette 2nd and billet 4th)

Aluminum accumulator pistons

Superior shift kit

Beast sunshell

Updated 5 pinion rear planatry

Dual cage 29 element sprag

RPM spring kit

Circle D input drum sleeve with billet piston

Carbonite wide band

350 wide lock up front stator bushing

of course any other hard parts you may need and a rebuild kit (gaskets, seals, and bearings)

you can find a lot of the parts from this site
