rojo_143 Posted July 18, 2010 Report Share Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) This is going to be long winded but you have to know the whole story to see the dumbluck that me and my wife stumbled upon. So me and my wife often go on random road trips with no destination. So yesterday we left our house at 7 in the moring and headed west on I-94 towards lake michigan in route to lake michigan we passed a black ISS headed east on I-94 once we got to lake michigan and went swimming for a bit. Then we got back into the car and headed north with an original intention of going to the soaring eagle casino. well my wife and I have never been to the sand dunes before so we decided to head that way. once we arrive at the dunes we were looking into renting a dune buggy but i couldn't justify the 150 they wanted just for an hour and a half. So we just decided to go swimming in the lake again. after a short swim we headed for dinner. We passed a red SS sitting at the gas station right by the round-about. when we sat down for dinner I looked at the table sitting accross from us and sitting there was a friend of ours we chatted for a short while on what the chances of us meeting in the resturant by luck was and stuff like that. he than asked my wife and I if we had been out on the dunes we said yes but we were walking. He told us to meet him at a specific point and he would take us out on the dunes. So there we are waiting on the back side of one of the dunes waiting for our friend to come pick us up. while we are wating we are trying to figure out what he is driving, we figured one of his jeeps or a lifted truck or something. I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!! He came over the hill in a 4 seater cammed LS1 powered sand rail. and proceeded to take us for a "ride" on the dunes for the next two hours needless to say our random trip with no destination could not have went any better. Here are some pics of our adventure. He was givin us our directions. I am havin a Blast And so is my wife He even let me sit in the driver seat hahaha maybe next time I can drive it. rojo_143 Posted July 18, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 18, 2010 (edited) yeah it was pretty quick it was basically a 400HP vette with long travel suspension and paddle tires. At one point we were buzzin over some whoops at 70 mph and felt like we were drivin on pavement that thing was sick so smooth and soooooo powerfull!!! the suspension had about 2 1/2 ft of travel we jumped quite a few times and when we landed it felt like i just fell back on to the couch. Shawn this was something I always wanted to do also I just didn't think it would actually happen.
