AKSSS
I just got my transmission back from being rebuilt. I also sent in my P.I. converter to be cut, cleaned, and restalled. I got the transmission bolted up to the motor and there is a .340 gap between the converter and the flexplate. I have read many times that the maximum gap is .187 with out using washers as spacers. I don't know how many "spacer" washers I can use, but I would have to use like 3 to get the gap down below .187 of gap. I am wondering if maybe the trans builder put in a diffrent pump or if something got changed on the converter when they restalled it? Any ideas? AKSSS
i would call them on Monday and find out. would have to say that is your best bet to find out 100% Well I got ahold of my trans builder and he said the pump should be the same. So I went ahead and put two .080 flat washers(sanded them down to be equal) to bring the gap back to .168 and snugged it up. I will still call precision on monday before I drive it, but I figure it comes apart easier than they go together it seems. Thanks for the note Krambo.
