nixsupersport
so for the past fem months or so I have noticed a slight knock in my motor. It was very very faint at first and gradually got louder. I was to the point of possibly taking my motor out and expecting the worse and doing a build. so here in Minnesota the weather has gotten a little colder and I noticed the knock to be louder than before, and now my check engine light was on. Ok, so now i'm freaking out...pop the hood, and notice one of my plug boots is moving slightly during idol. Long story short, I had a loose spark plug, I'm talking I took it out by hand!! The engine knock was the air passing through the block (compression leak). The plug was black but still good, threads were good so tossed it back in, and now has no noise under the hood at idol!!!! Very releaving!!! Has this ever happened to anyone before...being an aluminum block i'm lucky the threads are still good.
BlueAKSSS
Glad you figured it out before the threads stripped out in the head! I've heard of that happening on POS ford motors where the plug blows out of the head lol.
Krambo
Its always better to have a plug come loose than to overtighten and potentially snap it off. Glad you found your issue!
misterp
LOL Gotta love when it's something simple like that!!! Mr. P.
