vdrumright
Is anyone else noticing a black build-up on there exhaust tips. Mine looks like it is running a little rich? Anyone else seeing this in their SS?
MustBBrent
Yes sir. But then again, I was throwing oil from my first turbo because it had a bad journal bearing in it. On a more serious side, yes, my exhaust tip has been black for a while. You want to be a tad bit on the rich side from 14.7. Maximum HP is made around 12.5 or so to 1. Though you will want to switch back to 14.7 to 1 for your inspection. ;)
BenKey
Vince, it's pretty common, the black stuff. If you really want to know how rich you are, if that's it, then you'll need to monitor your O2s/ltrims via logging software, or use a wideband. Forced induction guys get this more than the NA guys. FI motors are safer to run rich. A lean motor pumping 10-15lbs of boost will not last very long.

TurbochargedBerserker
The black junk comes of very easily with Eagle One Original Never Dull Wadding Polish and an old terry sock ALternately, you can replace everything from the muffler back, with a turbo and a 12" straight pipe
