BigAnt Posted November 14, 2010 Report Share Posted November 14, 2010 Hey guys, I'm from SoCal (Santa Monica/Venice), I'll be getting a Silverado in the next 2-3 months. I've been in the Honda car scene for the past 3 years since I was 16, turning 20 soon. I'm moving towards the American Muscle scene now. I've been looking at quite a few Silverados 03-06 and seems that I want an extended cab with the 5.3 V8 and LT package with leather interior with center console. I would like to get a SS but they're about $3-5K more than a LT Silverado. What are some things I should look at when looking at one? Is there a way to tell the difference between the 4.8 and 5.3 V8s from the engine bay? I'm not really fimilar with this forum, is there regional section? Are there meets? To tell if it has a 5.3L or 4.8L just look at the top of the air box should say 5.3L and have the Vin number along with it make sure it matches that of the truck. Then inside the glove box it should have the code LM7 printed in there for the 5.3L. As far as meets check out the events/gatherings section for that.
