misterp Posted November 29, 2010 Report Share Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Out of the blue I am now suffering O2 sensor failure DTC's at initial startup; this is a totally new problem, the truck has never done this before in the last 88K-miles. If it were just one sensor I would think I legitimately had a failed O2 sensor, but what happens is that the instant the motor fires-up the MIL comes on, and these codes are set: P0135 - "O2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1" - EPA P0155 - "O2S Heater Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1" - EPA P0135 - "O2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1" - EPA Pending P0155 - "O2S Heater Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1" - EPA Pending P0102 - "Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit Low" - HC P0135 - "O2S Heater Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1" - MHC P0155 - "O2S Heater Performance Bank 2 Sensor 1" - MHC The P0102 I expect, because I have the MAF disabled (PCM is in speed-density mode). Remember these codes appeared *before* I started the engine. So did I really loose both O2 sensors at the exact same time and need to buy new ones?! Or is there another issue that is tripping these codes simultaneously? I probably should get new O2 sensors because mine are original with almost 90K-miles on them, but I would hate to spend $200+ on sensors just to still have this issue. Plus now I need this fixed to have the truck pass it's emissions test! Any ideas or experience from anyone?? Mr. P. Edited November 29, 2010 by Mr. P. BlueAKSSS Posted November 29, 2010 Report Share Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) That is a strange problem, if it was me I would go down to the parts store buy a cheap O2 sensor and try replacing just that one and see if the code goes away for that particular one, if so then you have bad O2's.
