SuperStock
My oil life will not reset. I have tryed turning the key on waiting 5 seconds and than push the pedal to the floor 3 times. It will not reset it. Is there another way to reset it?
BlueAKSSS
Yes I believe if you select the oil life screen in the DIC, you can hold down the "Enter" button for a while and it will say oil life reset.

SSN8R
You may also be able to reset it by pressing and holding the trip reset button for ~5 seconds. I also found this though--- Without Driver Information Center These models are equipped with an oiling system indicator lamp which will flash if the oil level drops below a safe point or will remain lit when the oil and filter are ready to be changed. After changing the oil and filter, reset the monitor by proceeding as follows: Turn ignition On, but do not start engine. Fully depress and release accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If CHANGE ENGINE OIL lamp flashes for five seconds, this indicates system has reset. Start engine. OIL LIFE should change to 100%. If CHANGE OIL SOON lamp lights again, repeat reset procedure. Good Luck, SSN8R Edited December 6, 2010 by SSN8R (see edit history)
SuperStock
I have done all that. After I follow all of those steps I will start the truck and it said "oil life reset" than I let it run for a few than shut it off and turned it back on. After I turn it back on it still says change engine oil. Maybe mine has a defect.
