Cramer
Well if you are on a budget, think about saving up for a little while and do things in stages. Start with bolt ons. CAI, Tune, Headers (I have the OBX headers too), Muffler. Then when you get the money saved up, go out and get a speced cam with the supporting parts. Springs, pushrods, valve stem seals and spring seats ( I replace them because they are cheap and you have it right in front of you when changing springs), gaskets, LS2 timing chain, oil pump, converter, shift kit and servos. With the cam it all depends on what you want and how you want to do it. If the motor has some miles on it then replace the timing chain, and maybe the oil pump. The cam swap isn't too much of a budget build when you start adding all the other supporting parts. It can be done for around a grand but that is if you install it yourself with some good deals on parts. So all done you can shell out 3k on the with everything you want. CAI $150 Tune $200 Headers $300 Muffler $125 Cam $400 Springs $350 Pushrods $125 seats and seals $30 Timing chain $50 Gasket kit $75 Oil pump $150 Red o-ring $5 Converter $450 min Shift kit $125 Servos $100 Then you add in the fluids for another $100+, and if you need special tools there is some more $ in that. You can go without some of the parts above but for the most part in my mind if it has to come off why not replace it. Also this is a round about price list criticize them if you want but some are higher and some are lower.
