Craigles
So I was waiting at a stop sign to get on a highway after filling up the SS and the snow was comming down pretty hard. I was on my way to a storage unit that I purchased at a auction the day before and was going to pick up a second load to bring home to sort out and sell. While I was waiting, I saw a old beat up rusty pathfinder comming down the highway with his blinker on getting ready to turn. I looked to my right and it was clear and just as I was about to go, I look to my left and this guy who was turning ended up hitting my truck right behind the rear tire smashing my tail- light into pieces, putting a huge dent on the side of my bed and messing up my bumper. He was going way to fast and over-estimated his speed into the slush/snow covered road slamming into me . I had a ton of emotions within me and wanted to kill this guy but kept my cool and stayed relaxed. My wife in the passenger seat though was the opposite and was hysterical and pissed. I calmed her down and told her to stay in the truck. I get out, my wife calls the cops and I wait for the cops to come. The cops come and the funny part of this story was, The cop says to me "What's wrong with you?" I said "What do you mean" The cop replied "This is a shame! This is too nice of a truck to be out in this weather" I laughed and said "I know but its my daily driver" The cop replied with " Go get a damn junker and keep that in a heated garage" I just laughed and walked away. While I was walking away, I noticed in my truck, my wife was crying. I get in the truck and ask her whats wrong? She said" This is your baby and I didn't want her to be hurt like this, she don't belong in a body shop" I calm her down and said " It's ok, shit happens but all I know is progressive( other drivers insurance) is going to pay big time for the shitty drivers they insure!" I kept thinking that I just thought it was cool that a truck that is 8 years old gets that many compliments to this day...I just thought I would share my story and if anyone is interested I can post pictures too.. arturomoreno
sorry to hear about the accident. my gf was saying the same thing your wife said about my truck when we found out today my sister in law backed into a fire hydrant and cracked the driverside back cladding and dented the metal on the bed thats hidden by the bumper. just thought it ws funny that our women know our emotions of our rides! and i think dumb people that dont take weather into consideration when driving should have their DL revoked. ThatTallCanadian
Sorry to hear about your truck man. On another point tho, people actually do storage unit auctions? I thought that was just for the show lol. Ever score any big finds like they seem to do all the time?

TYLERTXSS
ok whats a storage unit auction People that sto paying their storage units monthly bill get locked out of it and the storage place gives them so long to pay then they auction them off to recoup their money. Sometimes it nothing but junk, sometimes you find something very valuable. They have a TV show on Discovery about it, called like Storage Kings or something like that, ive never seen it but thats what someone told me. eeekroar
I'm sure it is a lot better in bigger cities, but where I live it was very weak! I was expecting treasure chest and Gibson guitars and seen nothing but mop buckets and dirty clothes.

StormChaser7905
Definitely feel your pain. Everyone who knows me is well aware of the fact they have to bail me out of jail if something happens to my ride. Then again, I am a female, I might start crying instead of bitching them out. Craigles
I know accidents suck at first but there is always a happy ending. Yesterday I went to a ford dealership for my damage inspection by progressive and they gave me their estimate of $1900 of damage but they wanted me to get it fixed at the dealership. I ended up getting a estimate from my auto body guy for $3200 and I ended up throwing the estimate to him telling him I want it done at the shop of my choice and he barely said anything. He cut me a check for the $3200 and its only costing me $1300 to fix. It was a good day yesterday and on the plus side with gas prices at almost $4 a gallon, I got a little 4 cyclinder to put put around in. As far as the storage unit auctions, I have made a ton of money doing it and found alot of cool things from a very old triumph motorcycle buried to a schwinn bike also buried. Those are my two big money makers from it. Ive also found a nolan ryan signed jersey and a whole bin full of signed memorbilia from alot of top athletes. Ive also found bins full of old comic book sets and old train sets. You wouldn't believe the crap I've found. I'v been doing it for a year now and I love it and the money I've made is unreal...thank god for craigslist!
