Servos? Stall Kits?

Recommended Posts

Im somewhat new to the truck scene, so bear with me here.

I read a lot of post about things like stall kits, and vette servos, but I dont really know what these things are.

Could someone please enlighten me? I need some edu-macation.

Im assuming you are meaning "shift kits" rather than stall kits.

Take a gander at this. Hopefully it will get you a better understanding on what you are seeing around the forum

When someone referes to a "stall" they are meaning the torque converter. This refers to the stall speed the converter has. Stall speed is when the torque converter starts to convert the power from the engine to the drivetrain via fluid coupling. The higher that "stall" the quicker you can get the engine into its power band therefor you take off quicker. A big must when dealing with these heavy trucks.
